| General: | A first-time feature made as a graduation project by seven very talented and ambitious students; 5 writer/directors and 2 DOP/Camera operators. The stories are not directly related to one another except through their thematic link to one of the five senses, and, in the portmanteau tradition, each story is very different in terms of narrative, tone, and adopted approach to its theme, crossing genre boundaries to give "SENSES" a broad and rich appeal. |
| Synopsis: | Part One: "Anna": a young cellist travels to a remote church by the coast to stay with a friend, who now lives with a reclusive music conductor, who is afflicted by a mysterious malady. Part Two: "Jerry": a neurotic with a preoccupation with underwear, sets out to find himself and his true love. Part Three: "Arthur": an addict paparazzo who thinks he has made it when he snaps a shot of what he thinks may be the clue to a murder. Part Four: "Zoe": a young Scottish girl to goes to Paris to visit an old flame and finds herself in a world of feasting. Part Five: "Anais": a Chilean couple who journey in to the Attacama Desert to try and rescue their crumbling marriage by way of a shamanistic ritual. |
