Stage Manager

we are starting to formalize an organization here in our country that will house events and theater professionals. this shall serve as the jumping board where present and future members shall be protected, and so to create standards when securing jobs which are on a project basis...

some problems we usually encounter: (1) sudden multi-tasking at the workplace or to some the abrupt change in work specs, i.e. you will be hired as production assistant but when you get there, you are actually running the show as the stage manager; (2) professional fees of technical and production personnels are usually low and at times, there were actually a lot of incidents that happened in the past when people were just not paid...

i believe there has to be a formal organization if not international in scope, at least localm that will setforth the standards for all the 'clients' out there to know that working in technical and production side of any event or live performance, be it a simple product launch, requires a high degree of professionalism...
