Constructive comments

Hi
Would you be kind enough to pass on your constructive comments on my photo please. I have put my comments on the 4 photos you are given so as your pic is reviewed. I made an effort take time and be honest but positive. However, I have received commentes that were very negative, borderline rude and ignorant. One said I looked evil. If people can't be helpful why say anything at all? We are all in the same boat trying to get along as best we can in a tough enough business. Intelligent opinions on my photo would be appreciated.
Best wishes,
Robert

Hi Robert

I hope you'll find the following comments constructive:

I don't know exactly what comments you have received but I wonder whether you may be a little over-sensitive? The idea of feedback on headshots is to see what casting bracket we might fit in to and also for people to commment on the quality of photos. It is inevitably a subjective process although one can also make/receive objective assessments like: too much shadow/not clear enough/fussy background/ looks as though there's a tree growing out of your head - that kind of thing!

If someone has said you look "evil" I would suggest that this is a genuninely helpful and constructive assessment of a photograph - it's only an opinion and it surely isn't intended as a personal insult! It just means that someone has looked at a photo and could easily picture you as a villain. That's useful, not rude. I would suggest that you have a "sinister" look. This doesn't mean I assume you have nefarious intentions.

We put ourself out there to be judged all the time and we are "product". As you say, it's important that we support one another, but I think you may have mistaken people's intentions.

Hi Robert

If I'm very honest, I would say that your main pic looks like a snapshot. Very busy in the background, and you shoulder is high, so it looks like you're moving.
My favourite is number 9.
It's a much cleaner shot, so it's easier to focus on you, your face.
I, too, can see you playing a villain.

Hope this helps
Sarah
