10 basic tips on how to get started in the entertainment industry.

Step 1: Training: Start by enrolling in courses that will guide you towards gigs that can help you produce a show or voice reel.
Step 2: Immerse yourself in student projects to help you find your creative feet.
Step 3: Make a conscious decision - Am I an Extra or an Actor? Which ever you choose, stick with it and stay in that lane, no matter how tempting it may be to cross lanes.
Step 4: Begin composing your CV.
Step 5: Research the photographers that talent agents use for their talent.
Step 6: Research talent agents, and understand what they look for and need to be able to represent their talent with genuine confidence.
Step 7: Research casting directors, and understand what appeals to them specifically in order for you to begin generating familiarity with them.
Step 8: Your aim is to have casting directors request you by name to your agent.
Step 9: Your next aim is to learn how to be a professional auditioner, self tape artist.
Step 10: Set up your home studio - Green screen, tripod, camera, condenser microphone. Begin networking, because most gigs are booked by way of not what we know, but who we know.
