Nightlife Promoter
Promote and create a buzz for popular urban and upscale nightclubs in the New York City area such as Eden, China Club, Duvet, and Webster Hall. Push venue sales by building and developing relationships with entertainment executives as well as the everyday working man by frequenting local New York City and Boroughs hot spots creating awareness for the venues. Use marketing tactics such as guerilla marketing and internet marketing utilizing such sites as Facebook.com and MySpace.com, and ThePartyBlog.com to increase venue ticket sales. Maintain lines and crowd control while at the venues to insure customers’ satisfactions through admission into nightclub in a timely fashion and treating clients as VIPs.

Urban Marketing and Promotions Associate
Create awareness in the Boston area of current R&B, Hip Hop, and Reggae artists from Atlantic Records, J Records, Def Jam, and VP Records. Promoted current singles in Boston nightlife through local deejays and club promoters, and liaison between the label and the artist when they are in Boston. Managed backstage and merchandise sells at the annual Radio Disney Jingle Ball featuring Atlantic artist KeKe Palmer. Collaborated with Def Jam Records and Boston’s own NBA team The Celtics to throw a major album press party to promote the cd and concert ticket sales for the Jay Z and Mary J Blige concert featuring up and coming songwriter turned pop sensation The Dream.

Maintained and created expense reports for VP and President of the department. Created budgets for artists including Mario, Monica, Alicia Keys, and Jamie Foxx. Created itineraries and arranged transportation for artists on tour. Imputed and processed invoices. Assisted with maintenance of the department by answering phones, faxing information, and processing invoices. Assisted with video drops for major artists such as Mario. Researched target demographics and located the strongest markets across the US. Studied featured artist’s competition in the young R&B Male Division. Created an Internet Marketing Plan to build artist awareness and music sales online. Plan included widgets on MySpace page for webisodes, blogs, merchandise purchases, concert ticket sales, local radio song requests, etc. Presented the plan to the VP of Marketing and President of the Urban Music division at J Records. The plan was implemented by the label.

Rap Promotions Intern
Maintained and organized street teams in various markets across the country. Updated inventories and shipped out product. Created and maintained connections with area and out of state Djs. Track rotations of priority singles airplay in the New York City area. Promoted artists in the New York City nightlife circuit including presenting new material to area Djs, setting up contacts with local nightclub promoters to book club shows and appearances. Assisted artist’s management teams during appearances including arranging ground transportation, VIP set-up, and merchandise distribution among fans.

Scheduled promotional runs such as local radio interviews and meet and greets for artists including Remy Ma and Ja Millz in the Boston area. Assisted management while doing promotional runs with artists and made sure they reached each venue on time, managed crowd capacity, and took care of miscellaneous needs such as places to shop and local cuisine. Researched and documented local area vendors, radio djs, and arts and entertainment publications to compile a marketing bible for quick recall to book and or promote artists. Presented the findings to head of the College Promotions department and was uploaded into the record label’s database. Promoted artists by throwing listening parties and dance parties on Northeastern University campus.

Processed documents including class schedules, testing materials, and study sheets for professors in the department. Personal assistant to department manager including taking calls, scheduling appointments, making deliveries, and faxing and copying materials. Transcribed various periodicals for professors. Assisted students in scheduling appointments and walk in times to meet with their prescribed teacher.
Mad Beat Productions Recording Studio, Hampton VA Spring 2004-Summer 2006
Junior Engineer/Operational Manager
Scheduled studio time for various artists in the Hampton, VA area. Set up microphones in the three recording booths for vocals, drums, keyboards, guitars, and any other instrument the artist might have needed. Promoted the company by developing relationships with local vendors and radio station disk jockeys. Arranged voiceovers commercials for vendors. Searched for local talent to sign to our production deal including attending open mic nights and school talent shows, arranging auditions, and discussing and signing contractual agreements. Performed the primary recording of all projects including over-dubbing, double tracking, and pinch-ins for vocals using ProTools. Vocal coach for aspiring singers.

· Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PageMaker, Adobe Photoshop, Ariba, Pro Tools, Soundscan and MIDI systems. Familiar with Microsoft PowerPoint, and financial trends in stocks and bonds. Proficient in stage and PA set-up. Experience as a recording engineer and studio manager.
