Using my own knowledge and marketing techniques, I established an Avid Hire business within Component Group Ltd capable of delivering Avid suites anywhere in the world with 24-hour support. A highly profitable venture, tripling profits between June 2000 and April 2001.

As Avid Support I ensured the smooth running of three Avid MCs v10 online suites, two Avid Symphony Suites, Avid DS suite, Pro-tools Audio suite and an Avid Unity Net. I provided safe and efficient facilities for client projects throughout the editing process, onsite technical troubleshooting and telephone support. As well as day-to-day technical maintenance, I kept up with industry updates and installed hardware and software upgrades when needed. I supervised three major upgrades of the non-linear suites, including the Avid unity installation. The position also enabled me to work with and learn from some excellent editors and study advanced editing techniques.
