I am a fully qualified electrician with 23 years of experience. My work history includes a variety of different types of electrical work. As an individual I am very reliable, punctual and conscientious. I am an effective team player but work equally well on my own, using my initiative to resolve problems and contributing to planning and development. I have good communication skills and have line-managed a number of trainees over the years. My current role has enabled me to gain experience and knowledge in the specialist field of studio production lighting, developing this area of specialist electrical work has been the most interesting type of work to date, and one which I believe provides me with the best opportunity to use my skills and experience.

 

 

Initially I worked as an electrical contractor and was involved in projects such as the Lakeside shopping centre and the Jubilee extension line. Around 1998 by absolute chance, a phone call from a friend led me to my first and using my initiative.   music video due to the fact the original electrician failed to show. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and soon gained thorough knowledge of all types of studio lighting, both generic and moving. I progressed as a freelance electrician working on other music videos and corporate events. The opportunity of developing my skills arose with the offer of working nights as a production electrician at the BBC television centre, where my responsibilities include facilitation of the over-head lighting rig. I have continually been involved on shows such as Top Of The Pops, Jonathan Ross, Later with Jules Holland, Strictly Come Dancing and many other BBC, ITV and channel four productions.

·        I have gained nine years experience working as a production electrician at the BBC.

·        Two years experience as a freelance production electrician on various music videos, corporate events and product launches.

·        Eleven years as a self-employed electrical contractor.
