Independent Producer/Director/Producing Editor
Produced/directed and/or edited high-end corporate video productions. Work includes pre-production (script writing, location scouting, screening talent/casting, etc.), production (directing shoots, camera operation, lighting, audio recording, etc.), and post-production (editing, graphics design, motion graphics animation, green screen/compositing, color-correcting, audio mixing, program mastering, DVD authoring/encoding/mastering, transcoding for web and other delivery formats, etc.).
Scheduling and hiring of independent contractors, helicopter pilots, etc. Technical direction and production management/staging of live events from board of directors meetings to corporate employee meetings, trade association events and charity galas. Commercial still photography/aerial and offshore photography/event documentation photography.

El Paso Corporation/The Coastal Corporation
Video & New Media Producer
As Media Producer/Director with The Coastal Corporation and post-merger El Paso Corporation, I was responsible for producing, directing and editing the company’s internal and external video productions. As one of the largest oil and natural gas companies in the United States, El Paso produced many video programs ranging from industrials to public affairs/outreach programs to high-quality informational videos for banker and analyst meetings. My role was to interface with the CEO, Board of Directors, Business Unit Presidents and Senior Vice Presidents to plan and create successful video presentations.
Other responsibilities included photography (executive/board member portraits, aerial/asset photography for annual reports, rig/platform installation documentation) staging, technical direction and A/V support for live events such as quarterly or annual town hall meetings, banker/analyst meetings, employee meetings and CEO communications. Duties included surveying locations, securing necessary equipment and personnel and directing technical/media production of the events. I managed the department budget and maintained the production equipment. I also established and maintained a digital media library system.
I utilized systems and software such as Avid Symphony/Media Composer, After Effects, Photoshop/Illustrator etc., to deliver numerous programs.

Alief Independent School District, Houston, Texas
Video Director
As Video Director of the 4th largest school district in Houston, Texas, I was responsible for the production of top-level educational video programs and production of a monthly 30-minute TV news program. Responsibilities included planning/scheduling, script writing, shooting, editing and distributing programs on tape, disc and web. I managed the office, studio and editing facility, developed the department budget and maintained the production equipment. Still photography and event production/staging were also under my control.
I personally researched, specified and designed the district’s first digital, non-linear editing system. I also developed instructional courses for teachers and technology specialists, to learn non-linear systems and imaging software like Photoshop, Illustrator, etc. I frequently interacted with district Superintendent, School Board, and upper-level management to design and develop media programs and projects, and to further integrate digital video/imaging into the curriculum.
