I’m a fully qualified electrician with all HGV licences. In recent years I’ve been building a portfolio in Audio Visual work. I’ve just moved to the mainland UK from Belfast and am trying to move into more of what I had the opportunity to do at home albeit in a larger sphere of influence.

I have worked for a few companies in Northern Ireland doing large scale concert and conference projection and camera work. The work has in a short space of time included concerts of up to 5,000 audience members and I have also worked at charity events hosted by among others Robert Powell on behalf of The Lord’s Taverners and featuring acts such as The Commitments and Bjorn Again.

I have worked at shows in all of Belfast’s major venues including the Odyssey Arena and Waterfront hall as well as in smaller venues like the prestigious City Hall and in some outdoor marquis functions.

I have also done a small amount of camera work for broadcast purposes.

In terms of skills and experience my trade background has helped me quickly to become a very competent AV rigger and latterly a camera op. In the meantime I have been paying the bills by doing more regular work as a class 1 HGV driver. I spent a lot of time last year driving tour trucks mainly for Van Morrison but occasionally moved PA and other kit around for many large festivals all around the UK and Ireland including Oxegen in Ireland the sister festival of T in the park.
