I am currently looking to work in post-production sound for film. I am hard working, positive and dedicated. I have a strong understanding of recording principles and the production process of music and film. I enjoy being around people and working as a team. I hope to continue developing my skills towards a career in sound design.
Skills/Work Experience:
‘When Will the Forest Speak?’ (2008)
• Produced a soundtrack for a short animated film.
• Used a combination of recorded, samples and synthesized sound.
• Created complex atmospheres using synthesis and effects processing.
• Recorded and performed sound design in studio.
• Succeeded in using audio recordings of various objects and fresh food to represent sci-fi creatures, with the direction to make it scary for the viewer.
‘Gold Lion’ (2008)
• Remix in the style of Zero 7.
• Used analogue, digital and software synthesizers.
• Recorded singer, giving direction on accuracy and harmonies.
• Edited a complex vocal arrangement.
Other
• Experienced and confident with Pro Tools 7, Logic Pro 7 and Reason 4.
• Strong understanding of microphones.
• Mac and PC proficient.
• Familiar with musical principles and have basic training in piano, violin and flute.
• While at University I did research into the psychology of sound and how it can be used to make images emotionally engaging.
• Organised and performed all PA setup duties for live gig. Mixed live.
• Recorded a number of bands of different genres. Good experience in working in a recording environment with a large group of people.
• Excellent organisation skills and good timekeeping.
