Aug 2007 – June 2009 Channel M Technical Operator
At Channel M I gained valuable experience on multiple show formats including Breakfast, News, Music and Sport. One of my key responsibilities was operating the Yamaha M7CL sound desk as well as Avid Xpress Pro and Adobe Photoshop. I was also in charge for rigging the studio for live performances. This involved applying microphones to instruments, setting out the monitor mixes and organising the back line as well as rigging and setting lights. Whilst on location I would operate the boom microphone as well the Audio Developments recording equipment. My time at Channel M has boosted my technical dexterity in both video, audio and picture manipulation. I have gained a deep understanding of Avid and Photshop and my rigging, sound mixing and engineering capability is of the highest standard. During my time at Channel M I thrived on the high pressure environment of live TV and greatly enjoyed being an integral member of a successful team.
Feb 2006 – July 2007 IFE Services Ltd Video Editor/Protools Operator
My key responsibilities included the following; linear editing on a Sony suite, non-linear editing within Avid Xpress Pro and Adrenalin as well as operating Protools in a postproduction sound capacity. I utilised these skills on projects for a wide range of major airlines and BBC World. I also managed the duplication tower, which involved duplicating, patching and changing formats as well as standards from PAL to NTSC.
After joining IFE I gained invaluable media production experience. I improved my editing knowledge and skills by adding linear editing to my skills base, as well as greatly improving my knowledge and proficiency in Avid and Protools. I have also learnt how to wire up complex video circuits involving several players, recorders and converters. I enjoyed the pressure of working in a professional environment and helping the team to complete projects within their deadlines.
July 2005 – Feb 2006 Ticketmaster Customer Service Agent
Responsibilities included handling both customer and Ticketmaster financial transactions as well as customer problem resolution. Key skills I gained within this role included knowledge of Ticketmaster PCI systems as well as standard customer service procedure. Since joining the customer service team I believe that my customer service skills have improved further and this is reflected in the positive feedback from the Ticketmaster customers contained within my file.
Interests
I have a keen interest in music and video production and have built my own studio. I VJ in and around Manchester showcasing my visuals. I enjoy sports and play football and squash on a regular basis. I am an enthusiastic amateur chef and enjoy creating my own new dishes.
