My name is Alex McDougall; I currently live in Cheshire, England. I recently graduated from Leeds Metropolitan University with a BA Honours in Film and Moving Image Production. I studied film for three years and feel it is now time to begin my career in this industry.

During my course I gained knowledge in the theory and practice of film and television production, including all aspects of the production process. I took short courses in Camera and Lighting, Production, Animation, After effects and Editing, all of which I thoroughly enjoyed. My main specialism was Editing in post production, which I feel I progressed mostly with. Throughout my course I undertook this role on a variety of short and student films and feel this is where my talent lies. I have experience in packages such as Avid, Final Cut Pro and Premiere.

As I have travelled a fair bit in my life I am open to working all over the world, this is something I really enjoy about the film industry, it gives you the freedom to go and do what ever you aspire to be. Although I have never worked abroad I am open to doing so as I feel this it what will make me successful in my career.

I really enjoy working in a team; this is another factor to this industry, which enthuses me. Film and television bring people together and allows you to meet new people; this is something, which I really feel you benefit from in working in a team. I also have great communication skills, strong IT skills and several years of dealing with people on various levels.

I am enthusiastic to learning about all areas of production and am open to learning more about this industry in any way I can. I feel I have the necessary skills to begin as a runner or an assistant of some sort on any production. I feel I would be a valuable asset to any company and am willing to start my career anywhere as I strive to be successful.
