Film Program Assistant Director, Direct Arts, New York, NY, January 2009 – Present

            Helps run the film program at Direct Arts, a non-profit located in the East Village, by documenting rehearsals, applying for grants, and helping to edit an upcoming broadcast length documentary, Almost Home: Taiwan, focusing on Taiwan’s independence movement.

Licensed Substitute Teacher, Brooklyn School for Collaborative Studies, March 2009 – Present

            Co-teaches an elective course that shows high school students how to operate DV cameras and non-linear video editing programs.  Co-teaches an afterschool film club with screenings and discussions.  Tutored numerous students on writing their final American history papers.

Documentary Filmmaker, Summer 2008 – Present

            Directed, edited, and produced a 41-minute film, Imminent Domain, which contains over 15 interviews and a variety of stock and archival footage.  Film debuted on January 2nd, 2009 at the Anthology Film Archives in NYC, as part of the New Filmmakers series.

Associate Producer, Current TV, New York, NY, June 2007 - February 2008

            Responsible for all aspects of production (video, audio, interviews, and editing) on two short documentary style news pieces, examining student loans and homelessness, respectively.

            Set up and operated a variety of complex video, audio, and lighting equipment, including but not limited to; Panasonic HD cameras, Arri and Kino lights, Shure Mixers, Sony monitors.  Clients included Animal Planet, Bloomberg TV, Food Network and many others.

                                           Responsible for keeping inventory of video/audio equipment, setting up equipment on set, and transporting said equipment to and from shooting locations.
