I have always had a passion for film for as long as I can remember. During my school and sixth form education I studied Film and Media at GCSE and A level. I loved studying these subjects because it meant that I was able to gain qualifications for something that I really enjoy. Having left school, I would love to continue my interest in film and did this briefly at Greenwich University, where I studied for the first year of a degree but am now looking for work experience and employment directly with the Film and television industry. I am a very practical person and would love to join a media team and learn the skills first hand in an industry environment.

I keep up-to-date with my film knowledge by reading a range of technical and film biographical books. As an avid cinema goer I also like to critically discuss film topics with like-minded friends.

I am an enthusiastic person and am keen and quick to learn and develop new skills. I am a friendly individual who works well in a team and I find it easy to get on well with people on all different levels. I am a very organised and tidy person and this helps me to be accurate in all areas of my job. Using my initiative and getting the job done is part of my hard-working personality as I am very self-motivated. I have a competent level of IT skills and am confident with using many current computer programs.

Employment History

2005 – Present          Sainsbury's Supermarket       (Beckenham)           Customer Sales Assistant

I currently work at the weekends at my local supermarket. My job involves operating the till on the check-out, assisting customers with their purchases and queries, replenishing stock on the shop floor, handling stock, general house-keeping, assisting other staff and have a good knowledge of health and safety in my workplace.

I enjoy this job but am now looking for something more challenging, where I can learn a larger variety of skills and meet different kinds of people in a different working environment.

March 2004                            Homebase DIY store                        (Penge)          Customer Sales Assistant

I worked at Homebase full time for 2 weeks as part of the work experience scheme through my school. My duties included replenishing shelves, assisting customers and staff, handling stock and general duties on the shop floor.

I really enjoyed this placement as it taught me a great deal about the world of work and the running of a large organisation.
