Casting "Flying Monkey," a short film. Logline: A young couple desperately plans to escape their tumultuous past, but a relentless Detective is determined to unveil the truth.

Synopsis: Detective John Collet interviews Connor Creed over a video call about the disappearance of his girlfriend, Alice Butler. Connor is surprised and claims he hasn’t seen Alice for days.

The Detective dredges up Connor’s past, highlighting his imprisonment as a young offender for blinding a fellow student. After his release, Alice helped Connor get back on his feet. The Detective is suspicious, noting that Alice’s parents say the couple have been fighting; and states that they were both seen by the lake the previous morning.

We snap out of the video call and see Alice, distraught and hiding in Connor’s room. Connor pauses the call and goes to her, desperately trying to calm her down. He says their plan is working - the Detective thinks he did something to her. She’ll be able to run free under the pretense of her death - like she always wanted.

Connor resumes the call and the Detective wonders why Alice has already run away twice this year. Connor sees Alice trying to escape through the window. He mutes his microphone and shouts to Alice that the Detective needs to know he killed her! Connor tells the Detective that Alice is at the bottom of the lake and slams his laptop shut! Suddenly, there’s a loud bang! It’s the police - battering the downstairs door in! After a heartfelt goodbye, Alice flees through the window and Connor gets on his knees. The police burst in and Connor smiles, watching Alice run away.
