Award-winning Indie Filmmaker seeking Executive Producer for Buzzed about upcoming Indie Feature

 

Here is an incredible opportunity to be involved with a prestige indie film designed to win awards and make a critical and commercial impact on film going audiences. We are looking for a passionate and dynamic Executive Producer to come on board a film project written and directed by an award-winning indie filmmaker with a recent hit film.

 

Our key professional cast and crew includes an Emmy-winning production designer, a brilliant 2x Emmy nominated actor with an international following for one of the lead roles, a gorgeous, younger actor/influencer for a strong supporting role, an award-winning producer/writer/director/actor/composer, and stellar wilderness and lodge/cabin locations. The film deals with the subject of men and masculinity, family secrets and lies, healing, hunting, animal conservation, and relationships between men and women.

 

Pitch: Closer meets Deliverance.

 

Logline: Two brothers, who meet once a year at a cabin in the woods in Big Bear to hunt mule deer for a week, uncover hidden family secrets and lies when their stepbrother drops by for an evening, changing the lives of the brothers forever.

 

The project is to be filmed first half of June in a gorgeous 100-year-old lodge and external locations around Big Bear area in the San Bernardino National Forest. We are in active pre-production with a tight but doable budget, shooting schedule, key crew, cast, locations and most of the financing in place.

A Deeper Dive: This feature film is edgy, pushing artistic limits and designed to win awards. But I don’t want a lot of red tape—I am shooing this on a guerilla-style budget with three terrific actors that are highly-trained--there are hunting scenes as well as lengthy dialogue scenes—think Mike Nichols—Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, The Graduate, Carnal Knowledge, Closer. Think of other seminal dramatic films about male/female relationships: Blue Valentine, Revolutionary Road, Scenes from a Marriage (Sweden). As far as hunting films (or using hunting as part of the story) that deal with relationships between men and have influenced the filmmaker: Deliverance, A River Runs through It, Dances with Wolves, The Deer Hunter, The Revenant. Relationships between brothers: On the Waterfront, Rain Man, Legends of the Fall, Warrior. East of Eden, The Godfather. I have big budget projects in the works, but this will be shot run-and-gun style with a small budget; however, it will be professional in every aspect (actors and crew) and COVID safe protocols in place.
