I began dancing when I was 17, when I was introduced to contemporary dance and physical theatre. I am extremely interested in companies such as DV8 who use a diverse range of physical styles to emphasise a theme or narrative. I have since been trained in jazz and ballet so that I may use these styles to my advantage.
Other than your usual musical numbers that require relatively simplistic choreography I have been a part of many devised lyrical and abstract pieces that require complex movements. I have a strong awareness of unison, cannon and juxtaposition as well as many other important elements.
Notable experience includes Resplendence, a piece that I choreographed with a company of five dancers, Pandora's Box, an sixty minute improvised solo piece that had huge background narrative and research, and two Major Practical Projects in my last year of University, Betwixt and Mr. Jack, of which I had multiple roles including dancer, choreographer and camera man.
I am highly interested in hearing about creative projects, especially physical theatre, that may add further to my experience. -
I knew I wanted to be an actor from the age of seven.
From that time I've been involved in amateur dramatic and musical groups around Essex and the surrounding areas. Even now I continue to support and get involved in community theatre projects.
- I was chosen to represent the Essex Group in their production of Oliver at the Waterford Theatre Festival in 1998.
- I worked opposite Nick Conway (best known from Bread and Coronation Street) who played Daddy Warbucks, where I played Rooster, in a 2002 production of Annie.
- During my college performing arts training, I won the award for Best Comic Actor, in 2005.
- Completed my performing arts degree with a 2:1 in 2009.
- Appeared in my first feature film as an extra.
- Completed my creative writing masters degree in 2011.
- Secured my first paid job in a touring panto in 2012.
- Got my first agent in 2013.
- Toured the U.K. with touring TIE company M&M theatrical productions in 2013
- Took a break from acting to teach English in Thailand for two years.
- Returned to the U.K. in 2016, and have since appeared in 13 theatrical productions. -
- Given a lead singing part in my first ever amateur dramatic appearance in 1997.
- Selected for a lead singing role as the antagonist Rooster in Annie, opposite Nick Conway (from Bread & Coronation Street) at the age of 16.
- Selected for a lead singing role as the antagonist Jud Fry in Oklahoma.
- Selected for a lead singing role Flynn Rider in Rapunzel.
- Selected for a lead singing role Captain Hook / Mr. Darling in Peter Pan.
- Selected for a lead singing role as the Hatter in Alice in Wonderland.
- Wrote and recorded a full-length prog-metal album for studio project Atlas Lake.
