About me
I Graduated University with a BA Degree in Acting in 2011. Unfortunately in the two years following that, due to unavoidable personal circumstances I could not commit to any projects without the risk of not being completely invested in it, so I had to take a break from acting. If I commit to something, i am completely committed. However during this time I did stay creative, constantly writing, learning monologues, reading plays and keeping my eyes on the future when I could continue. And that time has arrived, now with my time completely free to devote myself to as many projects as I can and get involved with what makes me happy again. I feel I've come out of the past few years a more mature performer, with better instincts and with a better understanding of my own and others emotions, making me a better performer. I also feel that there is now no doubt in my mind and soul that this industry is my home and this is the future I'm meant to pursue. And I am now able to pursue it.Skills

Highlights
-
I attended Liverpool John Moores University studying a BA in Drama, and graduated after 3 years in 2011. During that time I became more familiar with many different practitioners, and found which methods work best for me in getting the most out of the characters I play.
Before that I studied Performing Arts at Knowsley Community College, and used this opportunity to get as much knowledge as I could about the different aspects there are to acting. I has to sing and dance as well as act, and that helped me grow as a performer. I have always been passionate about singing as well as acting, and the course helped me to not only improve my singing voice but also enhance my speaking voice. I had not danced before the course, but during my time I improved on my ability and eventually began to get distinctions for dance and choreography. I feel that the dance training helped me to understand the physicality I can put into characters, and a lot of the things I was taught have stayed with me ever since.
I have studied many forms of performance, including physical theatre and commedia dell'arte, among others. These particularly have stayed with me because they have taught me how to transform into a character without the help of speech, and I feel that is an important aspect in acting.
I have always tried to make sure that I go for an array of different kinds of parts, so as to keep my range as diverse as possible, so that not only am I comfortable being out of my comfort zone, but I don't really have a comfort zone anymore. I feel like sometimes a comfort zone is an excuse to not take any risks, and when it comes to performing, I think risks sometimes need to be taken to grow as a performer.
I have mainly done stage work throughout my training and since, but I have done some film and voice-over work in the past, and at the present I am looking to build up a show reel so I am especially looking forward to getting involved in more television/film work.
I've always known I wanted to perform, however over the past few years, having not been able to do as much as I'd have liked, it truly made me realize just what performing and writing means to me. It was and is impossible for me to stop, and I found a way of doing it no matter what, and will continue to do so.
As I'm beginning my career, and enjoying every second of it, I hope to make any of the other people I work with feel the same way.
