About me
Jenny followed her dreams to New York City in 2006 to take her place at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts (like RADA, but AADA). She graduated in 2008, after being awarded the Dina Merrell Scholarship for international students. Jenny has a passion for promoting panto among the American masses & her production company The OPTimistiks premiered Dick Whittington: an Xmas Panto for NYC at Dixon Place in 2012. She cut her teeth in a range of off Broadway shows & short films, most notabley with Storm Theatre, American Thymele Theatre, The Stupes and St Jeans Players. From 2009 to 2011 she was engaged as an Actor & Producing Artist by Manhattan Theatre Source in Greenwich Village, where she produced and appeared in numerous short play festivals and initiated the role of Joannie in Billy Carver and the Children in Mind, a show which she also produced, designed and workshopped.Additional skills:
Costuming, Journalism, Telemarketing, Web Design
Additional information:
Scottish-born and Manchester-raised, and a graduate of the infamous spy-recruiting BA, International History & Politics, at the University of Leeds, Jenny eventually defected to London for work as a Journalist at the BBC. Prior to that she completed her masters on the UK’s first online journalism course at the University of Central Lancashire, where she produced a website for the North West Green Party and edited the 2001 Guardian Student Media Award winning website (Prest). But throughout it all she never lost her love of entertaining, and although presenting a series of short films for BBC Parliament scratched the itch, it was not wholly satisfying. She bade farewell to her native land with a one-night-only performance of Alan Bennett’s Her Big Chance, which was quite a party.
