Highlights

I have recently been in a short in which I played a man who had died in his office and had to wait there for the afterlife, a lot of bored blank faces ensued and a little bit of voiceover.
Before that was another short, in this one I was a guy persecuted by my family for being left handed. It was a metaphor for Russia and at one point I did have to write with my left hand. I am not left handed so the results were interesting.
After a two month rehearsal period, I completed a TV comedy pilot with strong interest from production companies in January. It is called The Players and is based around two boys being lured into the world of amateur dramatics. I play the main character, Alex, the shy quiet one of the two boys who ends up landing the role of Algernon in the society's production of The Importance of Being Earnest.
In October of last year I appeared in two short films. The first was a student film in which I play one of two mercenaries ambushed by agents, we then get embroiled in a gun fight and a standoff before I provide the comedic twist to finish it off. The second was a twenties style silent comedy, I play a speakeasy patron and various other roles for skits in an elevator.
Throughout last May I was on the Introduction to Acting course at The Actors Centre at which I have since become a member. The course had sessions on screen acting, improvisation, text, voice, movement and Shakespeare. Since then at the Actors Centre I have participated in the courses Dramatic Combat: Dirty, Gritty, Nasty (basically three hours of getting really close to people and safely scrapping), How to Play Comedy in Screen and Tools to Protect and Improve your Voice.
Also at the end of last May I took part in a screen acting master class by Ferris Entertainment. This culminated in us shooting a short horror film called Baroque and Roll in which I played the role of Roger, an auditionee at the London School of Musical Theatre who eventually falls victim to a vampire.
Before that I studied Drama at De Montfort University, a Centre of Excellence in Performing Arts. A particular module in my final year was six months of study and rehearsal culminating in a performance of Attempts on her Life by Martin Crimp for a paying audience. Also during this year I participated in a collaboration between the university and Curve Theatre Leicester. For this an entirely professional production of East by Steven Berkoff was put on, the only exception being the performers from the university. I played the part of Mum over the three nights and was directed by Paul Kerryson, the Creative Director of Curve.
