About me
Alex Blandino Bio :Born in Nicaragua, Alejandra (Alex) left the civil-war torn country and made Australia her home with her family from the age of 2. Her family arrived in Australia with no English and no money and it was through this hardship that Alex learned to value the worth of education and hard work to achieve your goals and dreams. Boasting a long career in music, Alex has been performing since the age of 2, and is trained in both Classical and Contemporary techniques studying Opera voice under renowned teacher Dr. Elizabeth Willis. Throughout her time she has performed a soloist, as part of floor shows, in bands and in many festivals, such as Fiesta Festival, Manly Jazz Festival and the Bacardi Festival. She has a Bachelor of teaching/Bachelor of Arts and is currently completing her LMus as well as Bachelor of Business.
A talented and dedicated Classical and Contemporary Singing Teacher, Alex has been sharing her knowledge since 2004, teaching all styles and aspects of Singing. From Pop to Opera, Alex trains students of all ages on an individual basis using correct singing techniques to ensure an exceptional standard of vocal ability.
Throughout her teaching years Alex has worked with students through the Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) Classical Singing Syllabus and Contemporary Performance Music Syllabus for use as entry requirements for Universities and Colleges and as qualifications as a Vocalist. Alex thoroughly prepares her students for Practical sections of the Music HSC, Talent Quests, Eistedfodds and Auditions and the entertainment industry by encouraging them to explore learning opportunities and to persevere with challenging tasks, resulting in consistently fantastic results year after year.
A regular in the club scene she has performed in clubs such as Vivaz, Petersham RSL, Wests Ashfield, Cantebury Bulldogs, Docks Hotel Latin Nights as well as Charity functions such as St Vincent De Paul Winter Appeal, Shave for a Cure, Carols by Candlelight, as well as many other special events.
Alex was the head-liner act for the Captain Cook Viva Cruise Latin Nights in 2010 and then founded and trained the incredible quartet Urban Opera in July 2012. In 2013 she founded and trained ARIA and eventually in 2014 she founded and created THE NEXUS ALLIANCE along with her four co- CEOs Anka Vukmanovic, Joseph Raso and William Blandino and Sara Giorgiutti. Most recently she played the understudy role of Carlotta in Strathfield Musical Society's production of "Phantom of the Opera" (October, 2014) and is currently playing the role of "Babette" in Strathfield Musical Society's production of "Beauty and the Beast" (Oct 2015)
