About me
My name is Craig Mitchell and I am a postgraduate student with a 2.2 in Music Technlology.I am currently working full time for Aztec Event Services as a Senior Technician doing events and exhibitions across Europe.
I am a kind, polite person that is also enthusiastic and punctual. I am always willing to listen and take on board good advice.
I have always been interested in music ever since I was in primary school, my secondary school picked up on the interest and pushed me through my GSCE 2 years early. They gave me the motivation to push and learn new creative ideas that have led me to being so skilled today. Once I left secondary school I wanted to do nothing else other than work in the Music and Theatre Industry but found it difficult to find a job without a degree. I went ahead and studied Music Technology for 3 years at the University of Kent. This was totally different to what I was expecting and far less technology based than first thought. I gave my all with my practical units scoring 70% and above.
I have used my skills around Europe varying from huge events at PAL Expo, O2, Excel, Olympia, NEC to much smaller events in little theatres and venues in London and the South East as well as being involved in community studios. All experience was key to my development as a professional.
Additional skills:
It is important having a hobby as well working. I love Music technology and Theatre roles but when I was younger I always enjoyed being a performer, playing piano and singing will always be a big part of my life and I have put a lot of time and effort into becoming a skilled musician.
Another big hobby of mine is building and restoring cars. Although this doesn't have much relevance with the Stage and Theatre jobs it does mean I am confident using tools when needed. Everything with regards to building cars has been self taught in a very small amount of time which is testament to my ability of learning skills quickly.
