About me
Soweto born Nonhlanhla Mnisi is a writer, producer, director and an author who has published eight books at the age of twenty-eight years in 2017, furthermore she has also ghost-written nine plus books, producing over 3 authors yearly. Her 1st book, “Life Changes” is a collection of poems; 2nd book, “Shades of My Brutality” is an autobiography; 3rd book “Stained for a season, Cleansed for life” is a short story her friend who survived colon cancer; 4th book, “Overdue Resignation”, is a motivational piece that speaks of habits that people perpetuate which should have long been abandoned; 5th book, “A Good Woman/Man BUT Not A Great Partner”, is a compilation of various authors/experts thoughts on the subject of love; 6th book, “Township To City”, which chronicles her journey into filmmaking after receiving a partial bursary in the U.S; 7th book, “The Praised Breadwinner”, a fictitious novel that will be produced into screenplay; and; 8th book, “Triumph of Forgotten Days”, is a compilation of fictional short stories targeted for high schools, screen, and theatre. She is yet to launch Book 9 which is a Book of 100 quotes; Book 10 a documentary series: 44 Young Leaders in commemoration to 44 Years since 1976, inspired by Nelson Mandela quotes & The Story of Zodwa Zungu’s cancer journey Novel as the 11th Book.Mnisi was honoured as a recipient of the Golden Key International Award in 2015 at the University of Pretoria. She was appointed as a content producer for Soweto TV. She worked with Jozi FM doing book reviews. Mnisi has also been part of the content production team on Metro FM’s breakfast show The First Avenue, and also worked as a researcher and scriptwriter for SABC1’s entrepreneur show, Making Moves. Presented and executive producer of The Womb on Tshwane TV & Faith Africa on DSTV. The prolific author was freelancing for Mail & Guardian. She also scripted the 18th Annual National Teaching Awards, and does numerous projects for Department of Basic Education. Mnisi was previously with Ogilvy & Mather as a TV Producer and was appointed as a Storyliner & Screenwriter for the Telenovela Isibaya by Bomb Shelter Productions. Mnisi does speech writing, previously for radio legend Mr Bhodloza Nzimande and currently for Zululand Mayor Cllr T.D Buthelezi. She will also be Directing her first movie “The Breadwinner” an adaption of her fictitious novel. She also scripted a short film debut for Mzansi Magic Ilangatye – The flame as well as a Women’s 16-part Series and SABC1’s The Kingdom 6-part Series Episode 6 with I Love That Productions. Produced a couple’s talk show For Better or Worse with Mo & Phindi Season1 on Mzansi Magic. She is also one of the Screenwriters for Mzansi’s award winning popular soapie Gomora and was admitted by New York Film Academy (NYFA) – Los Angeles campus for a 2-year Master’s Degree in Film Directing.
