About me
Diarmaid has spent over 20 years as a theatre technician. Most recently as a sound engineer/system tech and production/stage manager. He is used to working on larger events in Concert/corporate environments. He has worked as technical event and sound coordinator for events such as MTV Music Awards 2011, British Medical Association Conference, International Symposium of Electronic Art, European Union Ministerial Conferences as well as concerts for 'A' list entertainers, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Mica, Beady Eye, Ry Cooder, Darren Brown to name a few. While most comfortable as a FOH/ Monitor engineer, he has extensive knowledge of lighting and video system rigging.
As an in-house technician he is required to operate and manage work schedules, for a wide crew/ workforce, assessing and prioritising jobs across multiple venues.
He has a broad knowledge of machinery, tools and equipment through his work as production manager and set designer/builder.
Diplomatically dealing with user groups/customers, formed a large part of his work. This involved interpreting customers' needs to enable the successful completion of work.
Attention to detail has consistently been a strong element of his work to date, following plans and written instruction from clients, hence delivering what is required on time, or working with clients to find alternative solutions to challenges.
Working in an environment where the end result is a public performance has left Diarmaid very used to meeting tight deadlines on a daily basis.
Being an IOSH trained Risk Assessor enables Dairmaid to competently carry out risk assessments, creating a safe environment for work colleagues and public alike. In an environment were usage is constantly changing this could be an important asset to any employer.
With strong communication skills, exceptional problem solving abilities, a firm work ethic and a solid technical background, Diarmaid would make a valued contribution to your company.
