About me
At about age 12, I watched a 30 minute self-made documentary about a director I had been following called James Rolfe. It explains how he started off his career simply by utilizing the internet and uploading short comedy, horror and sci-fi films to his website on Cinemassacre.com. He is exactly the sort of creator that I aspire to be, due to his DIY attitude to filmmaking, which he has applied since starting at a similar age as I did. Since then, Rolfe has screened his first feature length film all over America.Recently I’ve gained influence from people like Andrei Tarkovsky and French new-wave cinema directors (e.g. Truffaut). I believe looking at various films from all over the world and from various time periods is a way to distinguish and form directors’ unique style.
I also see film as an art form, and that there is an infinite amount of ways someone can tell a story.
I love directing and editing, but one of my favorite parts of the process is storyboarding and getting the vision set. The "vision" is what always draws me into a project and really wanting to make it happen.
