About me
Recently graduated with an MA with Distinction in Post Production, from the renowned Bournemouth Media School. Just moved permanently to London, I'm seeking any type of work in the post production field, possibly full time, but considering also part time positions and freelancing/temp contract type work. I consider myself an artist first, a technician second. What I mean by this is that I always look first for the best way a story can be told, and an emotion can be represented, with a keen eye towards aesthetics and a trained ear for sound designing, rather than the more "scholastic" approach of following the storyboard to the letter and with a distanced, almost cold relationship with the project. To put it metaphorically, I don't simply assemble blocks, piling one on top of the other and making sure they fit and are stable, but instead I like to watch as the blocks assemble themselves, usually through trial and error, consultation with the director, etc: after all, a good editing job is when the editor manages to render himself invisible, as if the story flows naturally and created itself. This doesn't mean I disregard the director's instructions. Quite the contrary - I tend to get to know the director at a personal level and enter his view of the project, with the purpose of maximizing the product's potential. Directors have always appreciated my suggestions and my artistic flair as I supply them not only with great editing skills, but also that extra set of eyes of an artist that can give the director more perspective, more objectivity.I'm extremely versatile, driven, and a very quick learner, which means I can be counted on to perform multiple tasks, tasks on my own, and tasks that might even transcend the post production phase. I work great with other people as I'm extremely sociable and diplomatic (not a common trait among editors). I hope I can be given a chance to work in the field I love.
