About me
After completing my level 3 University Of The Arts London Extended Diploma In Production Arts I then went on to study Level 4, 5 and 6, Sound, Light And Live Event Technology Bsc at the University Of Derby. Throughout this time I also completed various other courses such as; Stage Pyrotechnics awareness from JustFX, Chamsys MagicQ basic, visualizer, timecode, media server and busking course, Avolites Creative Lighting Control, DLive, Sure Audio Workstation and Danta network audio level 1&2. As well as these courses and my training so far I am always constantly trying to stay up to date and progress my knowledge with both new technologies and best practices.I am usually very easy to get a hold of via emails as I check them constantly when not in a live production and try to reply promptly and efficiently. I have been told before that I am extremely easy to work with as I can also talk very simply about complex technicalities as well as the technically correct techie talk. I try to be as self-managed as possible with my planning and preparation. I can act on my own initiative with the correct balance of team working and collaboration when possible. I take pride in what I do and ensuring that I can be a great insurance policy for your shows/events to run smoothly. I do not commit or apply to any work that I do not feel is within my skill set or that I can not successfully deliver. I am professionally trained in both areas of sound and lighting however I will specialize in the role relevant to my application.
Sound:
I have mixed sound for over 16 vocal mics, Ensembles and band instruments as well as AV cues from show control programs such as QLab, SCS and MultiPlay simultaneously. I have also programmed many shows using these programs and I am more than commutable using them as I have spent countless hour on them. The audio console I have used include; Digico S21 and QUANTUM 7T, Berringer X32, Midas M32, Alan & Heath DLIVE S7000/S5000 and SQ5/SQ7, Soundcraft VI2000 and SI Impact, Roland M-400 and M-380, Yamaha LS9, LS39.
I am happy using Smaart and 10Eazy to monitor sounds as well as NTI acoustic measurement devices which I have used a lot on my course at Derby as well as my time working for AcousTech acoustic consultancy. Other sound programs I have used include D&B arraycalc, noiscalc and R1.
I have also used Sure Audio Workstation and am knowledge on Shure UHF Radio systems and frequency correlation. I always calculate for 3ed and 5th order intermodulation on all radio mics. I have used Ofcom before to book out frequencies.
Lighting:
I have designed, programmed and operated on the following consoles: ETC ION and GEO, HOG4, Chamsys, Avolites titan, MA2. I have also used Wysiwyg, Capture, Chamsys and google sketchup CAD/Visualizer programs. I have a very good understand of the communication protocols and data flow of DMX and ArtNet. Thought my time I have gained a lot of experience with not only conventional dimming systems but also intelligent fixtures such as moving heads, LEDs and pixel mapperable fixtures. I have also spent a lot of time using Resolume and video wall technology.
More about my training:
On my level 3 University Of The Arts London Extended Diploma In Production Arts I worked in the purpose built feature that was a receiving and producing venue I have also designed, programmed and operated lighting for a number of productions using the ETC ION console. While studying and working in the purpose build theatre I also took a few productions in to the Barnsley Civic Theatre as the head of technical to gain more experience.
At the University Of Derby I further developed my skills and knowledge of theatre and live events. featherdown you will find a list of my modules. In my first year of study I learned about stagecraft, health and safety and electrical regulation as well as, lighting, sound and video technology. I also learned about mathematical fundamentals and entertainment engineering. In my second year I learned about sound technology, acoustics, and sound system engineering as well as lighting systems design and applications. I also learned about computing and communication technology where I invented an app to remotely control a sound console using OSC. I also studied live event techniques and event design and management. In my final year I studied electroacoustic and lighting design using some of the most popular CAD programs. In my final year I also studied video streaming and display technology and multichannel sound system design where I made my own amnionic decoder for a system in the 360° surround field. Throw-out this time I also did multiple live event practice including working flexibly for 2 companies: AcousTech acoustic consultancy for live events and CloudBass outside broadcast. Aswel as my own independent study I also did a show control module where in a team of 5 people we made a fully interactive attraction.
Of course, I am always trying to learn more and develop myself further and I will continue to do this hopefully throughout my career.
Crew:
I have my own cameras and streaming equipment and I am fully competent in live streaming. I can setup multiple cameras for the stream along with any other devices you want incorporated in the stream. I am fantastic at designing streams and can make unique designs inbeding alsorts from timers and scoreboards to pop donators and scrolling text. I can play video playback live and other VTs you may have. I can also make nice starting and ending screens.
Additional information:
Primary work within live events such as bands, theatre, presentations and worship services.
