About me
I am a stage director with extensive experience directing concerts, musicals, operas, and plays. I am also a working singer, singing teacher, and music director.Additional skills:

Born and raised in Canada, singer, music director, and stage director
David Dellaire has been on both the Toronto and London music scenes
for over 10 years. With a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance and
a Diploma in Operatic Stage Direction, both from the University of
Toronto, David brings with him a wealth of knowledge in various
musical genres including rock, pop, jazz, musical theatre, and opera.
As a singer David has been a soloist with The Sault Symphony
Orchestra, The University of Toronto Symphony Orchestra, and The
National Youth Orchestra Band. As a chorister and soloist David has
performed with the Macmillan Singers, the Fulham Camerata, the
Blackheath Camerata, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra Chorus, and the
London Gay Symphony Orchestra Chorus. He was also the bass section
lead at both College Street United and St John's Hyde Park churches.
David also frequently performs on the London jazz circuit and has his
own swing orchestra.
On stage David has performed several musical theatre roles including
Charley in Merrily We Roll Along, Charlemagne in Pippin, Judas/John
the Baptist in Godspell, Judah and the Baker in Joseph and the Amazing
Technicolor Dreamcoat, and The Minstrel in Once Upon a Mattress.
David has also played various baritone roles in opera excerpts
including Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Pistola in Falstaff,
Polonius in Hamlet, and Mr Jarvis and the Speaker of the Legislature
in the world premiere of John Beckwith's Canadian opera Taptoo.
As a music director David has musically directed fully staged
productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, Fiddler on the Roof, Annie, and
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. He has also musically
directed several musical theatre reviews showcasing West End
performers.
David's directing experience began in children's theatre when he was
the artistic director of a summer theatre company for 5 summers in the
late 90's. Since then David has had a hand in directing several
musical theatre productions including Jesus Christ Superstar, Peter
Pan, and La Cages aux Folles. David has also directed and assistant
directed various opera productions including Le Nozze di Figaro, Cosi
Fan Tutte, Gianni Schicchi, Carmen, Madame Butterfly, and La Traviata.David was accepted as an observer/stage directing apprentice at the Royal Opera House in 2006 for a production of Le Nozze di Figaro, and is currently preparing the London Gay Men's Chorus for their 2010 Christmas Production "Make Your Own Kind of Christmas."
David is a full time singing teacher, is the conductor and choreographer of glee choir "DD Glee", and is the conductor of the London Transport Choir.
