About me
Freelance theatre director, screenplay writer and drama tutor. 20 years experience in directing all over the country from the Edinburgh Fringe to London's West End, Ipswich to Salisbury, Chichester to Nottingham.Associate Artistic Director at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester 2001-8, where notable productions included 'A Whistle In The Dark' by Tom Murphy, which transferred to the Tricycle Theatre, London, 'Romeo And Juliet' which starred the young Andrew Garfield and the UK Premieres of 'The Sanctuary Lamp', 'A Conversation', 'Shoot The Crow' and 'The Dead Wait.'
Currently Artistic Director of Elysium TC, a Durham-based theatre company bringing new writing and classics to the North, with special investment in the North East. Our debut production, Owen McCafferty's 'Days Of Wine And Roses' premiered at the Assembly Rooms, Durham and 53two, Manchester, October 2017 to great acclaim.
Ran own theatre company three times before - Allende Theatre Company, State of Unrest and Panache TC.
Author of several screen and teleplays & series, three of which are under development at the moment.
Teaching credits at British American Drama Academy, Mountview, the Arden in Manchester, the Oxford School of Speech and Drama, ALRA North and the Birmingham Conservatoire of Acting.
