As a drama student I have had the opportunity to experience firsthand and contribute to a professional theatre’s working environment through modules in Lighting design and execution, as well as group project work. I have been required to take full responsibility for my lighting designs and attend production meetings outlining and expanding my design concepts by communicating with others and collaborating with their designs.
I have had experience of creating lighting plans from scratch, rigging and supervising others whilst rigging, safely ensuring the cabling of all lights, as well as converting domestic lights to a safe Ampage for the theatre. I have also had the opportunity to operate light and sound for five shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in my first year of University with Z Theatre Company. I have a strong interest in film and film making after A level studies in film and participation in my University's TV Society, as well as the making of my own short film for examination purposes, learning the ins and outs of editing and the time consuming attention to detail required when making a quality film.
I have developed patience, positivity, drive and openness during my experiences in professional theatre, and I not only enjoy complimenting other people’s efforts but thrive myself when other people’s expertise compliments my own.
