About me
Since graduating in July 2017 with a music degree, I have been acting full-time. I began my career with a physical theatre R & D piece performed at The Core in Corby, then moved onto a series of educational films for the NSPCC, before joining a six month national tour of 'Little Women' and 'Sense and Sensibility'. The latter was then taken to China in October and November, 2018. During March and April 2019, 'Little Women' was taken to China, where I played Jo March. Between all of this work, I delivered site-specific theatre at the National Justice Museum, providing historical information as a character that tailored their performance to the audience or event taking place. I am a highly-focused individual, able to bring a great deal of energy to the rehearsal room and performance space. With my background in site-specific and outdoor theatre, I am able to be flexible and fix issues using my initiative. For example, I recently stepped in to cover another actress, learning the blocking, script and multiple songs in three days and performing the full play off-book. I am a good team-player, and have a sincere passion for theatre and music. I commit myself to any project in which I am involved, and work very hard to be my best. I'm currently very interested in working on films, TV work and physical theatre pieces.Additional Information
I am a trained vocalist, having worked under Alex Ashworth's tuition for three years. I am proficient on the piano, violin and ukulele, and most recently wrote, composed and directed my own original folk musical, which showed in York in June. I sang in the Cantamus Girls' Choir for five years, touring and competing internationally. This experience has meant that I can learn material very quickly, including music and script in different languages, and with tricky harmonies. This five year training with the choir enabled me to be highly reliable. During my gap year (and the breaks between terms), I have worked as a costumed interpreter, tour guide and educational facilitator at the National Justice Museum in Nottingham (and sister-attraction, The City of Caves), and gained great experience in performing for varied types of groups. These range from educational children's visits to after-dark corporate events, including ghost tours, terror tours and murder mysteries in site-specific and immersive theatre. Because of this post, I feel that a great strength of mine is building a good rapport with an audience, as well as storytelling effectively.Skills
