Following studies at East 15, and enrolment as a National Youth Theatre Member, I have developed not only as an actress, but as a person now being more in touch with myself as a whole. I have further expanded my exposure to the performing arts by attending various different performances. I have recieved training in Physical Theatre, Stage Combat, World and Community Theatre; alongside a toolbox of acting techniques, monologue prep, voice work, singing and movement. My course director at NYT trained at the Jacques Lecoq School specialising in clowning; she praised what she described as my natural clown ability and commented favourably on my obvious desire to please an audience. During studies, I experienced a variety of styles of theatre and performing. My interest in the way in which characters portray their thoughts through movement was enhanced following a visit to Gecko, an award winning physical theatre company. In addition, I took part in physical workshops and particularly enjoyed learning their techniques on the importance of breath. My main aim is to continually develop my knowledge and my ability to commit truthfully to a character; performing gives me such a rush, especially when exploring the use of my body, mind and vocals. I have been behind and in front of the camera, enabling me to experience the importance of other roles involved in the process of production. Additionally, whilst training at East15, I worked behind the scenes, producing; stressing the importance of all the creative roles. I have a new found respect and understanding of the construction work behind the scenes, as well as gaining awareness of how theatre and media works. Throughout my childhood I have trained in a variety of dance styles and successfully auditioned for a West End Kids Training programme, providing intense dancing and singing training. My ability to self-motivate is strong and I have a reputation for attending extra curriculum classes to further my knowledge and experience. In the absence of teachers, I have led sessions and was appointed Stage Manager for 2017 Drama Showcase. Completing my Gold Arts Award improved my speaking and listening skills as well as time management skills. In addition, I have experienced paid employment as a Zombie in a music video for "Casanova the Plug" and "Bliss Da Bully" alongside street performing, for the opening of an art gallery; my performances included repeated gestures and laughing which I undertook for two hours; indicating stamina and fortitude. Outside of school I was a member of Gulbenkian Youth Theatre where I experienced street performances at Boing Festival and helped co-direct pieces as well as gaining a place on our NT Connections entry, two years in a row. Time management is everything and I pride myself in always being prompt to rehearsals; I commit fully to whatever project I am assigned. I am dedicated and hardworking and believe I am ready to progress in the industry.
