About me
In addition to my work with the theatre, I have volunteered for numerous library children’s programs, and volunteered at the YMCA for 4 years. During my time with the YMCA, I was responsible for organizing two large events. My role included planning, coordinating other volunteers and staff, and assuring that the events ran according to YMCA standards. I also had the chance to teach children's programs on topics such as American Sign Language (ASL), leadership, arts & crafts, etc. In 2018, I hosted my own community event, geared towards families and children. As the chief organizer, I was responsible for collecting donations, planning activities, and bringing together local not-for-profit organizations that wanted to participate.I am currently working towards obtaining my Library and Information Technician Diploma. The program is offered by Confederation College, through distance education. Most of my elective courses pertain to children's program planning. I have also obtained Event & Hospitality Management Certification through online learning.
Acting experience:
I am very dedicated to the theatrical community. I have volunteered with the Northumberland Players since 2014, and worked in a variety of roles, both on and off-stage. As an actor, I have performed in multiple productions. I serve on the Script Reading Committee as well, and have organized Front of House Volunteers, as Front of House Manager, and assisted with promotional efforts (i.e. distributing posters, performing radio interviews, etc.) Shortly after I started working with the Northumberland Players, I completed a week-long theatre training intensive program with the Driftwood Theatre Group. I have served as a Greeter at various productions by Driftwood’s Bard’s Bus Tour.
