About me
Graham Hoadly was born in Hornchurch, Essex, and commenced his career there at the Queens Theatre in 1977.He is presently rehearsing as Admiral Boom and the Chairman of the Bank in the Disney / Cameron Mackintosh 2015 UK and Ireland Tour of MARY POPPINS.
He has just created the role of Lord Cromer, the Lord Chamberlain in the new musical MRS HENDERSON PRESENTS at the Theatre Royal, Bath.
His West End roles include the whole run of CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG (currently holding the record for the longest running Musical at the London Palladium). He played Lumley in MR CINDERS (Fortune), Dexter in SINGIN' IN THE RAIN (Palladium), Francis and Grant in ELEGIES (Criterion) and Abe Greenbaum in SOME LIKE IT HOT (Prince Edward). He may be heard on the original cast recordings of these productions.
Recent theatre credits include; Franz in THE SOUND OF MUSIC in Cairo and Beirut; Lord Augustus Loring in LADY WINDEMERE’S FAN at the King’s Head Theatre, Mr Pinky and Mr Spritzer in HAIRSPRAY in Macau, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, Captain Brackett in SOUTH PACIFIC at Kilworth House Theatre, Dr Chasuble in THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST at The English Theatre of Hamburg, and Major General Stanley in THE PIRATES OF PENZANCE at Kilworth House Theatre.
His many major tours include Colonel Pickering MY FAIR LADY ; Bert Barry 42ND STREET; Everett CRAZY FOR YOU); Simeon JOSEPH; The Rabbi FIDDLER ON THE ROOF; Colonel Mustard CLUEDO; Uncle Augustine SALAD DAYS and JUST A VERSE AND CHORUS along with numerous roles in repertory all over the country.
He has toured frequently with Opera della Luna playing Baron Zeta THE MERRY WIDOW; Dick Deadeye / Auntie HMS PINAFORE , Mrs Partlet (don’t ask … !) THE SORCERER; Pooh Bah (THE MIKADO), and Fingers McFidget (THE BURGLAR'S OPERA).
Graham is a regular Pantomime Dame / Ugly Sister, having previously appeared at Richmond, Wimbledon, Woking, Stoke and Milton Keynes. Last year he played Ugly Sister in CINDERELLA at the Glasgow for Qdos.
A frequent voice over artist and radio broadcaster, he voiced most of the men who weren't Marx Brothers in FLYWHEEL SHYSTER AND FLYWHEEL, (often repeated on Radio 4 Extra) amongst many other programmes for the BBC.
Film and TV credits include Jack in YAHŞİ BATI (a spoof Turkish Western!), LONDON ROAD directed by Rufus Norris, for the National Theatre, Lieutenant Stewart in the short film TRUE GLORY, Horace Carter in THE ESCAPIST, Baptiste, in THE SNOW WHITE FILES, and Jimmy in BLUNT, with Anthony Hopkins and Ian Richardson.
