Ian has appeared at ENO, Opera Holland Park, The Round House, Royal Albert Hall, The Lyric Theatre, The Bloomsbury, The Warehouse, Rome (Italy) and many venues both in the UK and abroad. Companies he has worked with include: ENO, Opera Holland Park, Unexpected Opera, Midsummer Opera, Telltale Opera, Opera North, Open Door Opera, Fulham Opera, Teatro National Madrid to name but a few.
Recent roles include: Un Signore (Zazá), 1st Philistine (Samson), Dormont (La Scalia Di Seta), Prune Seller (Boheme), Nick (Fanciulla Del West), Spoletta (Tosca), Venditore (I gioelli della Madonna) Witch (Hansel and Gretel), Sorceress (Dido and Anaeas), Mime (Das Rheingold), Mime (Siegfried), Gherardo (Gianni Schicchi) and Trojan (Idomeneo).
Ian has appeared in a myriad of operas as chorus soloist including La Forza del Destino, Francesca Da Rimini, Pique Dame, Jenufa, La Traviata, Roberto Deveraux, Rigoletto, Don Pasquale, L’amico Fritz, La Wally and Macbeth, to mention but a few. He has also been an Opera Holland Park Company Member since 2002.
Ian’s oratorio roles include: Carmina Burana (Baritone and Tenor Soloist), Mozart Coronation Mass and Mass in C Minor, Faure Requiem (Baritone) and Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Verdi Requiem, Haydn’s Creation.
Ian has also worked as assistant director, for Susan Stacey’s London Opera Vocal at the National Opera Studio, on staged scenes, which include Die Walküre, The Beggars Opera, Manon, Albert Herring and Carmen.
Ian created the role of Operatic Tenor in Benjamin Till’s Pepys Motet, which was recorded in October 2010 and performed in a concert version in November 2010. The piece was featured together with Benjamin Till on Radio 3.
Ian regularly works with singers mainly in the fields of musical theatre and pop specialising in voice safety, health and cross over. He regularly works as a vocal consultant with various professionals in the music pop industry.
Film Credits include: Turandot Chorus Tenor in Mission Impossible 5. TV credits include the premiere of “Children In Need, The Musical” and he sang in the ensemble for Jonathan Dove’s TV Opera Death of a Princess (when she died).
