About me
I acted at school and university but then followed a path to a twenty five year career away from the arts. Four years ago I returned to acting with local theatre groups and received much positive praise from individuals who have trained and performed professionally, so now I am committing to doing more work as an actor. I have no formal acting training, but I have drive, intelligence, flair, enthusiasm and empathy in abundance to convincingly and confidently bring characters to life in front of an audience.Additional skills:
Qualified chartered accountant.
Additional information:
Since becoming a full time actor at the end of January 2020 I have secured parts in 10 short films and the lead in a student television pilot. I have also been a body double on a major motion picture and performed three rehearsed readings and was rehearsing a play that was due to open on 1 April. Lockdown meant that the play has been re-scheduled, one short film was cancelled and the television project was halted after two of the planned four weekly rehearsals prior to the filming in front of a live audience. But I have benefited from all these experiences and understand more about myself as a performer. There really is no substitute for standing in a TV studio, having four cameras rolling and ad-libbing in character as the host of an adventure quest gameshow. All of the directors that I have worked with in these productions have said that my performances were perfect for the different roles and they have all been extremely complimentary. One of these directors was the winner of the 2019 BFI Future Film Makers award for his age group. My previous career required hard work, excellent organisation and acute attention to detail in order to meet and surpass the requirements of exacting employers. These are skills that are equally relevant in my new acting career.
