About me
I began my career with Clondalkin Youth Theatre, and graduated from Bachelor in Acting Studies course, Trinity College in 2009, performed my first professional role on the Abbey Theatre Stage, as a Servant and Understudy in The Rivals Directed by Patrick Mason. Most recently I finished up filming on Meangadh Fíbín's new puppet show for TV 'Saol Faoi Shráid', playing the role of the frantic, crude, manic, wood-louse drummer, Drish.
In 2013 I did a national tour of Ireland with Barnstorm Theatre Company's show "The Bockety World of Henry and Bucket" Directed by Sarah Argent.
"Actors John Currivan and Paul Curley effortlessly seduce the audience into their world of imagination" (Irish Theatre Magazine)
I starred in Polish Theatre Ireland's English language premier of Julia Holewinska's "Foreign Bodies" as the tormented, bitter and angry son, Lech.
"Particularly affecting is a scene where Ewa’s attempts to reconnect with her son (John Currivan) go painfully awry" (Irish Theatre Magazine)
In removed I featured in TG4s soap Ros na Rún, as the two-faced, dangerous and violent Ciarán Ó Múirí.
In 2012 I also perfumed as the innocent giant Bodach in Fíbín's show for children "Bodach an Chóta Lachna" at the Babóró Festival Galway.
"You are unlikely to find a more endearing performance on the Irish stage this year than that of John Currivan as the Bodach" (Irish Theatre Magazine)
