About me
I'm an actor, poet and writer recently based in Manchester. I've worked as an actor for the last ten years, both across the UK and abroad in Italy. I graduated from the Arts University Bournemouth in 2013.I've always enjoyed taking an active role in the creation process. Most notably, I've worked as both an actor and playwright for theatre companies in Italy. I was contractually employed to write original work for Teatro boxer, a theatre company based in the Veneto region, where I crafted adaptations of classical and world-renowned literature, as well as penning original, autobiographical scripts of historical figures; most notably Gulliver’s Travels and the life and times of Charles Darwin.
I was also commissioned to write and perform in two plays for Teatro Stabile, Italy's national theatre company, as part of their literature season, performed towards the end of 2018 and the opening of 2019 at the Hotel Danieli, a luxury hotel along the famous waterfront (Bacino di San Marco) of Venice. Each play celebrated both the works of Shakespeare and of the Beat generation respectively.
During my career, I've had the pleasure to perform and tour in a self-penned show at the Edinburgh fringe, Bournemouth and London; to have performed at ‘Il Ballo del Doge’, the annual masquerade ball held during Carnevale; across many private events in Venetian palaces; to have taught and directed young students and budding actors across workshops and productions; to have regularly worked as a guide and actor in an interactive street tour taking members of the public throughout the Venetian alleyways, and to have portrayed all manners of character such as Gulliver, Iago Shylock and Fagin, as well as try my hand resuscitating dead legends such as Darwin, Jack Kerouac and one of my favourite writers: Edgar Allen Poe.
I’m currently set to start working in an upcoming film Z0E, and I'm writing a play using ‘the history of tea’ as a vehicle to investigate altered states of consciousness and the means with which a government controls its population.
