About me
Lucy is an extremely versatile and talented performer. Leading a colourful life within the acting and entertainments industry, from working on stage with live reptiles, to being covered in custard!Born in Kent, Lucy began performing from a young age and graduated from Bath Spa University in 2008 with a BA Hons degree in Performing Arts.
She can currently be seen presenting shows at Butlins in Bognor Regis. These shows include 'The Big Red Coat Gameshow', written and directed by Stephen Mulhurn, and working along side Dick and Dom in their live show. Lucy also works in the 3D Discovery Studio, which is the first payable entertainments venue in Butlins. Here she co-hosts three different shows, one of which she has co-written, 'Dino Babies'.
'Dino Babies' is a musical adventure for pre school children and throughout the show the children in the audience interact with the baby dinosaurs as they help them to grow up big and strong. They are encouraged to clap along, stamp their feet and even teach the dinosaurs new skills along the way such as how to fly, swim and even teach one baby dinosaur how to roar really loudly. The show is also great for parents as it encourages them to interact with their children every step of the way. Lucy co-wrote the show with her co-presenter Steven Fletcher and creative director for Butlins, and due to popular demand and sell out shows, more performances have recently been added.
Other writing credentials include co-writing the live entertainment schedule for over 2500 guests in the hugely popular centre stage at Butlins for their New Year's Eve celebrations, and, 'Discover Magic', which after one successful year in Bognor is now shown nationwide at all Butlin resorts. A 'Fun House' style game show, a pre show for the very popular 'WWE Butlins Superslam wrestling' along with an interactive science show 'Inventive Science' targeted for ages six and above.
Prior to her presenting work, Lucy worked as an actress and was cast in various plays and musicals including 'HONK', which she performed at 'West End Live' in Leicester Square, which then went to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Lucy has also played the role of Dawn in 'Semblance of Madness' at the Drill Hall and she was also fortunate enough to perform twice at the prestigious 'Minack theatre' , in a revamped modernised version of the Shakespeare play, 'Hamlet' and ' The comedy of Errors'. Once again Lucy was fortunate to be a part of the creative process, and had a vital input in adapting the plays in order to relate them to a younger audience.
Following this, Lucy translated her performance skills to children's entertainment and education, where she became a manager at children's pre school giant, Gymboree, for two years. She also ran a theatre school alongside this and wrote all the scripts for the productions and lesson plans each term. This allowed her to further develop her career as a presenter as it taught her the fundamentals of pre school education, and what truly engages and excites children and their parents.
No stranger to Pantomime, Lucy received great reviews playing role of Wish Washy in Above the Stags adult only production of 'Get Aladdin' at the Landor Theatre. Prior to that, she played the role of Wendy in M and Ms touring production of 'Peter pan'.
With such a strong background in writing material that has been tried, tested and proven to work, She now works closely with her co presenter Steven Fletcher, and they have plans to use all this wealth of experience to write for both live theatre and television, taking their careers to the next level.
