About me
Molly Olivia is a writer, multidisciplinary artist, actress and singer, born August 2nd 1989. She followed her passion for the arts from an early age, attending intensive workshops and schools throughout her primary and secondary education through to college, where she specialized and excelled in drama, literature, fine art and multi-media.She trained intensively on the University of Plymouth's HND/FDA Theatre, Media & Performance vocational degree, based in Bristol at the Tobacco Factory Theatres and Hamilton House, home of Co Resist and Bristol's leading independent cultural community arts hub. This endowed her with strong roots in classical performance, physical theatre, devised and ensemble theatre, dance/movement and post-modern live art approaches, working across the practitioner spectrum with a range of methodologies and performance philosophies. From here, she progressed to train on the Theatre Practice: Performance Arts programme at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama, where she continued to dedicate herself to creating her own original work as a creative performer, writer and director.
She has also undertaken intensive training with Eco Dharma - a unique centre in the wild, beautiful Catalan Pyranees that teaches and encourages ecological consciousness, drawing on Buddhist Dharma and New Paradigm philosophy and practice - as well as with their sister organization, ULEX Arts, in connection with with Reboot the Roots, a charity that promotes social inclusion and change through the arts. She has also trained on the Peace through the Performing Arts program at the ASHA Centre (Forest of Dean), and in recent times she has been a member of an ongoing, closed psychodrama circle facilitated by psychotherapist, dramatist and master mask craftsman Mike Chase. She has also participated in the creative, play and prayer centred work of the Institute of Devotional Arts (Spain).
Molly has continued to expand her spheres of experience, play and collaboration by attending somatic movement circles in both Bristol and Stroud (UK), soaking up the diverse plethora of approaches that are illuminating and energizing for the body, soul and psyche in amazing ways. She is a passionate student of Qi Gong, Shaolin Kung Fu and martial arts philosophy and practice.
She is now committed to expanding her professional acting credits in film and theatre. Molly Olivia takes to dark and sensual roles effortlessly, and is most noted by her peers and collaborators for her clear, husky voice, excellent text work, posture, physicality and brooding presence. She is also enamoured of the art of Fooling, and rejoices in opportunities to explore the absurd, comedic, playful and visceral.
It would be an honour to work with you on your project, please feel free to contact me directly for castings. With gratitude and sincerity.
