About me
Acting and performing has been a passion of mine for a very long time. I have always kept myself involved with this by firstly writing various little projects myself and then upon joining university I joined a society called Broad-Ways Theatre and Film Society. This society is a place for original writing for theatre and film, the only society in the university that does that type of work. I got so immersed in the society I eventually joined the committee, becoming president in my final year. This meant I was now in charge of running the various theatre and film projects we did over the course of academic year, giving me further experience of how to actually run a performance from a technical standpoint.Over the years I have been involved in many projects of both theatre and film and they have all been in varying roles all challenging me as a performer and helping me to learn and develop my skills and I think that now in 2020, I am a more rounded and versatile performer than I was three years ago. I am keen to utilise these skills and develop them further and go ass far as I can as a performer.
Additional skills:
I have done some work in stage combat in school as well as during my gap year and would be keen to get more involved in this. I also had to learn to some fencing for a role i did for a play called "after juliet".
I have also done some work in dancing, having done a recent show that required me to learn the dance seen in Michael Jackson's "Thriller" video.
Additional information:
Majority of the skills I have ascertained have come from playing sports. Throughout my life, I have played many different types of sports which have all influence my outlook and persona. I represented my senior school in cricket, hockey, football and golf, for which I was captain for both football and cricket teams. Outside of school I currently play for local cricket club Mochdre Cricket Club since the year 2001. I was elected captain in my first year at the club and went on to captain the u13 and u15 teams, where we won the North Wales Championships three years in a row. Playing all this sport helped me understand the meaning of being part of a team as well as leading one. Within a team there are certain expectations that need to be met and everyone has a part to play in realising them. I gained more knowledge in this area whilst participating in the Duke of Edinburgh award at my school, becoming one of only two to have ever completed the Gold award. Venturing out into the open with limited resources has helped create a sense of independence which I did not have before, meaning I can handle myself even when there is a lot of pressure upon me, be it on my own or as part of a group. These skills which I have learned have been transferred to my university life, where I held a sports scholarship.
