About me
Samuel Freeman is a Welsh Actor Musician who graduated from Bath Spa School of Music and Performing Arts with First Class Bachelor Honours in Acting. He is a trumpeter, singer, guitarist, clown and physical performer.Working in reparatory and touring theatre, Samuel has worked internationally with the likes of Selladoor, Big Wooden Horse, Young Shakespeare, Splendid, Three Inch Fools, Omnibus, London Contemporary and Prime. He has built a strong career in Shakespeare, Commercial and Children’s Theatre.
Freeman has gained extensive screen experience as the lead in over 10 shorts and the music videos for R&A and Subtitles Film. The Young Cannibals (2019) is his feature length debut.
In new writing, Samuel has performed in the original productions of Eleonora Fusco's Our Baby, Andy Moseley's After We Danced and site specific work Wherever I Lay My Head at London City Hall. In research and development he’s collaborated with RSC's Tanika Gupta, Victoria Gould of Complicité and the UK leading Visually Impaired artists company Extant.
Freeman is passionate about creating through play as Artistic Director of Pleb Theatre, a walkabout clown company of absurd and interactive performance for outdoor events across the UK.
Additional skills:
-ABRSM Trumpet Grade 8, Singing Grade 5 and Theory Grade 5 passing all with merit.
-BASSC stage combat (pass) award in rapier, dagger and unarmed.
-Clown.
-Movement skills incorporating Feldenkrais Method.
-Puppetry.
-Audio recording, podcasting and subtitling knowledge.
-Extensive Research and Development experience for theatre.
