About me
My first taste of acting was at the age of 10; as part of a children's drama group, in the musical Oliver, at my local YMCA, on the council estate I grew up.I later joined the 'Action Theatre Group' located just off Tottenham Court Road for a year which culminated in a street-theatre production 'Paying Bills'; performed at Hackney Festival, directed by Christopher Adamson, the villain in many films such as Judge Dredd, Lighthouse, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest ...
I enrolled at the City Lit, Holborn and undertook individual acting, dance, singing classes and eventually embarked on the 2-year part-time acting course.
I was taught by Powell Jones, actor, Rodney Archer, actor and Valerie Colgan, actress (and then Head of Drama, Dance and Speech (see reference attached)).
I continued at the City Lit for a further one-year attending comedy acting classes.
Whilst attending a Stanislavski course, I heard about a small drama school based in North London.
I attended the three-year (two-year evening) directing course.
On graduating, I acted in and helped stage manage fellow graduate productions to gain experience.
I worked with Ray Knight Casting Ltd for three years to gain additional experience acting on camera.
I continue to attend classes at the City Lit to learn and keep improving my acting.
I have an interest in film and would love to work in graduate short films.
Additional skills:
I continue to attend various acting classes to enhance my acting skills.
Additional information:
I played a maid in The Cazalets (BBC 1 drama series, 2001) directed by Suri Krishnamma and produced by Verity Lambert, OBE.
I acted in an advert for the 'Football season' on BBC2 directed by Ron Scalpello; and gained full membership to Equity.
I attended and worked as the School administrator alongside the Principal (Head of Acting) at a small drama School based in North London; and gained a valuable work ethic.
I currently work part-time in the City and voluntarily for a fringe theatre managing the box office and working behind the bar for the various matinee and evening show performances.
