About me
Wilder Weir (born September 23, 1983) is a Canadian Television/Radio Host and Producer. He is best known for hosting and producing Breakfast Television Montreal and Sportsnet Central Montreal on CityTV and Sportsnet East. Wilder cut his teeth as an on-air personality hosting the national weekly entertainment show Oh So Cosmo on Cosmo TV and the W Network for six seasons. His experience stretches behind the camera as well, creating and executive producing the television series Paddling Bryans (Travel + Escape's #1 original program) currently in it's 2nd season.
Wilder currently hosts daily radio talk shows for TSN 690 and CJAD 800 (Bell Media). A man of many talents, Wilder has interviewed celebrities such as Gerard Butler, Mila Kunis, Russell Brand, Terrell Owens, Dr. Oz, George St. Pierre, Candace Bushnell, Chris Nilan, Penn Badgley, and Chris O'Donnell to name a few. Wilder has also appeared on numerous media outlets including eTalk, ET Canada and the Marilyn Denis Show while contributing articles for the largest women’s magazine in the world, Cosmopolitan.
Wilder is originally from Montreal, Quebec and is the first of two children born to retired NHL hockey player, Wally Weir.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, with a major in Film and Television from Queen’s University while playing Division 1 hockey and moonlighting as a CFRC-FM sports commentator. In his spare time from school he performed stand-up comedy in front of the wild crowds at Yuk Yuks and has had the chance to perform at Montreal’s Bourbon Street comedy club and The Pittsburgh Improv.
Wilder’s first television exposure came when he was featured on CBC’s Making the Cut in 2004. A year later he braved the fast-paced sports news room at TSN Sportscentre as a writer and story editor.
Wilder’s sense of humor, On-Air experience and no holds barred approach to production makes him a great addition to any team.
