About me
I am a Durham University graduate (English Literature BA Hons, 2.1), and during my time at uni I threw myself into every performance opportunity. I performed in over 17 productions which included Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream,, to Piggy in an all female production of Lord of the Flies, to Shrimp in A Girl From Maxim's.I performed at the National Student Drama Festival twice - in 2016 as Grandma with The Addams Family Musical (winner of the FestGoer's Award 2016), and in 2017 as Rebecca in Swallow, where I won the Spotlight Award for Most Promising Actor.
In August 2015 I performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival with Swing By Around 8, where we achieved a Sell Out Award and 5 star reviews.
I am also a member of the National Youth Theatre.
I don't just act though, I also get involved with theatre behind the scenes and as a tool for education. In August and September of 2017 I spent 6 weeks in Zambia teaching drama to underprivileged people with the Durham Drama Outreach Project. I was also elected to be the Festivals Secretary for Durham Student Theatre and in February 2018 I organised the 42nd Annual Durham Drama Festival. This meant that not only did I attend weekly DST meetings where I was an integral member of the executive committee and actively participated in the running of the second largest - though arguably most successful - student theatre society in the country, but I also produced and directed a week long festival that celebrated student writing. DDF was in February of this year and saw the production of 9 new student written shows, which were attended and judged by a record number of industry professionals and Durham alumni. I wrote to each judge (and many more besides!), met with each one individually to brief them on the running of the week and successfully asked each one to conduct a workshop or talk for the student body. These judges were Alex Macqueen, Chris Grady, Kath Burlinson, Matt Dann, Benedict Weaver-Hincks, Gemma Wright, John Godber, Michael Brazier, George Aza-Selinger, and Jake Murray.
In my final year of university, I auditioned for a master's course at drama school, and achieved a place, however due to a lack of funding I had to reject the offer.
