I have had limited experience in Reality TV, except the one time I appeared on TV, which was in a game show on Channel 5 shortly after the channel first began broadcasting - can't even remember the name of it now, only that I was knocked out just before the final round because I couldn't name the Teletubbies (well known at the time to adults with children, perhaps!) My main interest is music. I have a vast collection of records and CDs, and I am pretty knowledgeable in this area, especially regarding music of the 1970s. I am excellent at spelling and grammar and pretty good on numbers. I am a teacher of Classical subjects, so I usually perform well in quizzes involving questions on Latin, Greek, Roman life, Greek mythology and derivations. I'm also very interested in crime and murder mysteries, and very much enjoy participating in murder mystery weekends. I am quite a fan of "Big Brother" and know I would enjoy an experience like that, if I could spare the time. Nudity doesn't phase me...I'm up for it, if it's required! I'm not a physical person, so no shows involving sports or other physical tasks would suit me...my agility is all mental!

My interest in acting began at school, where I had a small part in Julius Caesar as a messenger. I also helped out backstage with costumes and make-up for various shows. In my first job as a teacher I appeared in the chorus of the school musical every year for five years. I was fortunate enough to be cast as one of the disciples in a production of Godspell in 1984 performed in a stunning church in Dorking, Surrey - I was the only cast member over the age of 21 and the only one not RHADA trained, and over 120 people auditioned! My first two shows in the amateur theatre were as Feste in "Twelfth Night" at the Edward Alderton Theatre in Bexleyheath, Kent, and in the Chorus of "the Mikado" with Erith Operatic Society, both in 1985. After that I did very little, owing to my commitments with charitable organisations such as the Terrence Higgins Trust, until 2002, when I rejoined the Erith Operatic Society, then joined Erith Playhouse in 2004 and rejoined the Edward Alderton in 2006. I have had a number of principal roles since then, most notably one of the two Gypsy kings in "Carmen" with EOS in 2006, one of the two thugs in "Wait Until Dark" in 2008, Mr. Grainger in "Are you being served?" in 2008 and "Lofty" in "It Ain't Half Hot Mum" in 2009. In addition I have had small parts in many plays, including a butler in "Rope" and a corpse in an Agatha Christie play (22 minutes sitting still in a very uncomfortable wheelchair!) However, I have most often been found in the chorus of musicals and operettas, such as "Fiddler on the Roof", "The Sound of Music" and "Oliver" (2006-2008) and many G&S operettas, and in pantomimes. I have been thinking about doing more acting, including TV work, for some time, but my day job as a teacher made it too difficult to take on any more - I was already doing 5-7 shows per year in the amateur theatre by 2006, which was more than enough! However, I currently find myself employed only part-time and am hoping to get enough as an "extra" to enable me to pay the bills! Friends of mine who are already doing TV work suggested that I would be very employable as I have an unusual and quite distinctive face, and have very expressive eyes. In addition to acting, singing and dancing I have directed school productions, including "Pygmalion" and "Sweeney Todd the musical", and in March 2009 I directed "Oedipus the King" at the EAT, which was this season's highest grossing production. In my next two shows I played Gribsby the solicitor in the unedited version of "The Importance of Being Earnest" and Lucien (the principal role) in "Tomb with a View". I had a major role in the play "Good Things" last summer (playing a slightly camp, definitely closeted, assistant in a charity shop). My most recent role was as the Caterpillar in "Alice", based on "Alice in Wonderland".
