About me
Although I was born in Auckland, New Zealand of British parents, I grew up in Australia. This is where I starting my initial training and my early career, I then took the plunge and came over to the UK where I found a successful career primarily performing on the West End stage. but also finding creative fulfillment choreographing several shows. I then turned my hand to TV & Film work, where I met the fantastic father of my 2 boys. I then chose to spend a quality few years taking on the most challenging role any woman can ever entertain, Motherhood. So now I have both a wealth of practical theatrical and artistic experience and a wealth of life-changing "what it is to be human" experience to offer.Additional skills:
Choreography
Singer
Actor
Private Tutoring in all the aforementioned.
Additional information:
Having had a great deal of experience in many areas of the performing arts, I feel strongly that "performance", or self-expression can be a vital tool in facilitating self-development both in children and adults. One only needs to spend a short time with children to see that it is entirely natural to "play out" that which they see in the world around them. More than that, it is a necessary device to help them understand and prepare themselves for adult life. Adults too can benefit greatly from expressing themselves through dance & physical movement, singing exercises & vocal games and guided role-play. Performance skills help develop self-confidence, listening skills and the experience of performing is both socially nurturing and is a excellent community building exercise.
Singer:
Born in Auckland, New Zealand of British parents, I grew up in Australia. This is where I starting my initial training and my early career, primarily as dancer. I then took the plunge and came over to the UK where I found a successful career primarily performing on the West End stage, where I also found my voice, in both acting and singing. but also finding creative fulfillment choreographing for theatre, fashion shows etc. I then turned my hand to TV & Film work, where I met the fantastic father of my 2 boys. I then chose to spend a quality few years taking on the most challenging role any woman can ever entertain, Motherhood. Most recently I've been working as a Voice Over Artist, Session Singer and offering Private Vocal Coaching from my home studio, whist writing and performing with my Brighton based band, BOBWANTSHISHEADBACK.
Additional skills:
The term most commonly used is "Triple Threat". Nadia is equally at home in the areas of Singing, Acting and Dancing. With over 25 years experience in both performance and teaching.
Testimonial
"Nadia is one of the most magnetic and compelling performers I have seen. Her vocal style is natural, unaffected and intensely charismatic.
I have witnessed her manage a wide range of musical genres effortlessly during a performance, and always bringing her own unique flavour to whatever she is singing. Drawing on her considerable commercial experience in Dance and Performance Art, I am always at ease watching Nadia on stage as she is at home in her body and voice. Go and see her; I guarantee you won't forget her!"
