About me
Having completed an Undergraduate Degree in Film Production, I am strongly familiar with the process of Films and TVs shows and I feel I can substantially contribute to the medium through a combination of technical experience as well as my acting repertoire.I have taken part in many projects in the form of both short films and theatre, and have won several awards for my efforts. For example, my acting team "The Biscuit Barrel" received a 5-star rating and the "Special Merit" Derrick Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2018 as well as a Sell-out show. Additionally, my work in the short film "From Here On In" (2017) received a nomination for the Winchester Short Film award at the Winchester Short Film Festival last year.
Both of these project highlights my versatility as an actor as "From Here On In" required me to take on the realistic role of a troublesome older brother facing the grief of his late grandmother. Meanwhile "The Biscuit Barrel" is a comedy sketch group and so I played the role of numerous more stylised characters as part of our 58 sketches in 1 hour. Some of these roles also included me playing recognisably as female and as part of a barbershop quartet in some places. Other outstanding character included a pirate, a child, Winnie the Pooh, the Doctor, a spider, a magician, a street seller having a mental breakdown and a jellyfish.
Beyond these two projects, I was also part of an original play called "DeathJuice" wherein a played the multiple characters of an aggressively rude therapist and a series of identical waiters. In this abstract piece, I needed to display that I was playing a different character in each scene, despite looking identical to the last and hosting the same role in said scene. This required me to be facially and characteristically clear as I had little movement or dialogue to explain each variation of character.
Prior to these larger performances I was part of acting showcases highlighting a series of short acting performances all banded together by an overarching plot in between. Though I also played smaller supporting roles in a series of these short performances, I was also the main host of the larger plot through an Artaudian display of puppetry. Here I was to make the audience feel deeply uncomfortable due to my villainous and creepy demeanour and abuse of the actors onstage before starting each short piece. This role adds to my versatile acting ability as I have represented a large variety of character types and have had major success in recent projects as my skills have improved over the years.
As a Film Production graduate, I also have a diverse skill range in technical ability and online marketing. I have several years of experience through many Adobe programs as well as in the use of professional film equipment. From this, I feel I am confident with utilising social media to advertise the projects I work on as well as in creating thumbnails and trailers that will grab the attention of viewers and encourage them to find out more information.
