About me
I enjoy creating 3- dimensional garments, specifically for costumes, from nothing but a visual or idea. I wish to learn and stretch the skills I already have, as well as gain new ones. I am confident working as part of a team and with a variety of people. I am very organised as well as being able to use my own initiative and think quickly. I enjoy any opportunity to be creative and look forward to the challenge working as part of your department would bring.I have experience in pattern drafting, draping on the stand, creating toiles, carrying out fittings, alterations and repairs. Also I have skills in tailoring, millinery and corsetry. I am confident in dyeing and breaking down fabrics and garments. I have worked with individual performers and large groups.
I have exhibited one of my costumes at New Designers 2016 and Textiles Forum 2016.
I have graduated in Costume Design and Making at Nottingham Trent University with a 2:1. Throughout the three years, I made various historical garments including an 18th Century Pet-En-L’air, 1830s bodice and 1910 Naval Mess Jacket and 1914 trousers. In my final year, I designed and made an 1899 evening ensemble for the character of “The Shrimp” from Feydeau’s “The Lady From Maxim’s” using artwork from Toulouse- Lautrec and a fantasy villain for a video game for the character of “Hades” with a dark theme using the human body as inspiration.
