About me
// LOOKING FOR MY NEXT JOB STARTING JUNE //I'm a helpful, friendly and tidy individual who is always eager to help others out, and keep the peace between performers! Over the years, I have thrown myself into a variety of opportunities, helping friends with short films, volunteering at Brighton's Fringe City, assisting in pop up events and other regular events in Brighton, assisting as a sound engineer both at music festivals and locally within studio environments.
I am currently working as a sound and lighting technician for Sweet Venues, working in four venues across Brighton, meeting performers and preparing their desired stages/lighting setup and cues for lighting and sound during their performances. Performances vary greatly including; physical theatre, musical, comedy, cabaret, music and spoken word. Shows I have been lead technician for include Behind Our Skin, Start of Something, Stick Some Shoes On, Steve Lee Performs and Indecent Act, Barbeque the Musical, Waiting for Gandalf, Hopeless Levla, My Father Held a Gun, A Really Big Modern Telly, Des Kapital Mao That's What I Call Music, Sweet Release and a variety of Spark Factory shows (including; Burning Tails, Honeybee, And It's All Happening At The Same Time, The Duet it Should Have Been, Forgetting of Carol-Ann, Queerstory, How to Make Me Happy and How Disabled Are You?
In terms of music production, I have recorded a multitude of artists in a professional studio setting, studied binaural and surround recording techniques. I have practiced creating music and sound design (including voiceovers) for film, tv, adverts and video games. I'm currently still working with Gorran Kendall, to finish his 5 track EP. Last year, I programmed my own application (using Max MSP) that changes the emotions of the music during a video game at the viewers content (by turning a dial) - this year I hope to develop this application so it can be attached to a heart rate monitor where the music can change subsequently from physiological parameters to correlate with users' emotion. I'm interested in contemporary research in sound design and adapting technology and environments for the benefit of sound.
Additional skills:
Sound Technician, Lighting Technician, Events Assistant, Music Production, Sound Engineering, Lighting Designer, Basic Coding, Composition, Arrangement
Referees:
JD Henshaw, Artistic Director & Venue Manager @ Sweet Venues: removed
A Hutton, Tech Manager @ Sweet Venues: removed
J Watson, Music Producer, Studio Manager: removed
